Often dubbed the Pearl of the Caribbean, the Turks and Caicos Islands are one of the most favorite travel destinations for Holywood celebrities in recent years. Unspoiled beaches, friendly locals and their unique way of life, turquoise seas, and luxurious hotels, villas and resorts are just some of the attractions.
Last year my husband and I visited the archipelago for the first time and we stayed on Providenciales (Provo), one of its islands and the most populated. With a total of about 32,000 inhabitants, Providenciales has 27,000 of them. However, the capital of the archipelago is not located on Providenciales but on another island.
Where is Turks and Caicos?
In the middle of the Caribbean of course but it is a territory of the United Kingdom. The currency is the dollar and it constantly receives tourists from the USA and Canada so you may struggle to find a “truly Caribbean” atmosphere there. The original inhabitants are of Creole ethnicity and they seem to be “veryBritishized”.
Turks and Caicos is all about beautiful, tranquil Caribbean living.
The first impression we got when we first set foot on Providenciales was that it was calm, the weather was sunny, and within a few days we quickly realized that Turks and Caicos has many unspoiled beaches with wild animals roaming around. You can easily spot turtles, shorebirds, dolphins and a variety of shells. If you love diving, the coral reefs around Providenciales are one of the best destinations. There you can swim between beautiful coral reefs with thousands of colorful marine fish around you. It will be an unforgettable experience!
Where we stayed
We stayed in a five-star villa, one of the Over 4-Bedroom Villas for Rent in Providenciales to be exact. It was a villa managed by White Villas, the best villa and resort service in the Caribbean islands.Turks and Caicos has a wide range of hotels, villas and resorts but only some, including those managed by White Villas, offer a five-star luxury experience.
What we got really spoiled us, as all the villa amenities we imagined were available, even the ones we didn’t expect. To explain to you, we have:
– Everything a cozy villa should have; cable TV, coffee maker, BBQ grill, dishwasher, air conditioning, and all the obligatory electronic appliances.
– The rooms are spacious and cozy, and even our villa can accommodate up to 10 people. We had a party in the villa for 2 days without losing any space.
– Spacious balcony with ocean views.
– A dedicated guest app that gave us full control to book anything we needed, even when we decided to spend our nights in the center of Providenciales. White Villas provided us with a luxury SUV with an experienced, courteous, and friendly local driver.
– A private swimming pool where we both chatted with our guests.
– 24/7 surveillance at White Villas ensures the safety of every guest 24 hours a day. There is no need to worry about local disturbances of any kind.
– A private chef to ensure that the two of us (and our friends) can enjoy authentic Turks and Caicos cuisine without having to “sacrifice our palates”.
– And of course, the location of the villa. We only had to walk a few minutes to get to the beach. So much fun!
If you’d like to have a fun vacation like the one we had in Turks and Caicos, book your flight soon and make sure you and your family stay in one of White Villas’ luxury villas.
